Sketch and Fall Art Swap Attempt

When I first started on a piece for the Fall Art Swap, I just about left it as a Sharpie doodle pattern. Should have listened to my gut because I went ahead and painted a woman on top of the pattern anyway. Had some trouble at first because I wasn’t completely sure what I was wanting to do. Now I don’t like it, and I don’t think I can fix it without obliterating the pattern underneath. If you have any suggestions, they are welcome! I like the color of her skin and how the background turned out, but she looks like a mess. I am hesitant to post it up, but sometimes you have to show that artists have bad days too. LOL! Plus, to soften the blow I thought I would post up a sketch I did of a gypsy.

Gypsy Sketch done in pencil.

First Fall Art Swap Attempt. Sharpie pattern with Acrylic paint on the surface.

  1. So nice! I especially love your gypsy dancer!

  2. Thank you, Anita! I just noticed your message went into my Spam comments. So weird. I appreciate you taking a look and commenting! 🙂 I had fun with the gypsy girl.
